Today the big snow they had been promising us for the past couple of days had finally arrive. We had been having about 3" or so on Monday and as always Daisy was having a blast in it.
But this morning the picture was quite different. When I took Daisy out for her morning walk we had already 7" of fresh powder on the ground. No sidewalk cleaned and the streets hadn't been touched by a snow plow in a couple of hours. It was really fun to take Daisy for her morning walk. And she had an absolute blast in it. Running back an forth like crazy and you sure couldn't tell that this dog is going to turn 16 this year. It would have much more fun if I didn't have to go to work. But there's nothing you can change.
I figured taking the train man have been better than the bus. That was a mistake since the earlier train wasn't going to come at all. So I took the subway and the bus...and was hoping for the best. Got a bus on pretty quickly and that was quite a surprise. I didn't even try to wait for my second bus connection and chose to walk the 15 minutes to work. This was actually quite fun. Haven't been walking in deep snow in the middle of the road to work in quite some time. And choosing to wear my hiking boots in this weather turned out to be the right choice. But it was truly an awesome experience. Brought back memories from my childhood when winters like that were the norm.
