Relocation Inventory

Today I received the paperwork from Schumacher, that I have to fill out in order for them to be able to clear customs. In order to insure the items being shipped you have to do a inventory and I wasn't particularly looking forward to that...as it's a lot of work. First you have to do the overview inventory list. Then you use that list to figure out the replacement value in order to clear customs and to figure out the amount the shipment has to be insured for. Once I was done with that I had to work on the detailed inventory list, since every item has to be listed separately. That's not that important for items of minor value, but with items of higher value it is important. Should the insurance case occur you have to be able to provide a detailed list of items you're filing a claim for, you have to know how much each item is worth and you have to prove with a picture that you really owned that item.
So I spent the better part of the afternoon working on the inventory overview, the detailed item list and took a picture of each item. I was quite happy when I was finally done.
I hope that I can finish tomorrow the paperwork and mail it back to the shipping company.
