Customs Paperwork...or at least kinda

Well today I really wanted to do get with all customs paperwork done that's required for having my stuff shipped to Austria. I thought would take me probably about 1 or 2 hours and should be a piece of cake. Well, not so fast. I had to print out 4 forms, while I was printing form #2 the printer ran out of ink. I really didn't want to drive out to Santa Clarita just to pick up a ink cartridge, so I emailed Kenny to print it out at work. Couple of minutes later I heard back from him that he was going to do exactly that. When taking a closer look at the customs forms I realized that I had to figure out a replacement value for items listed in the paperwork. I could have just guessed it, but that just doesn't seem like the right way to go. You definitely don't want to have your items underinsured, but you also don't want your items overinsured either, since you're paying a percentage of the shipment value as insurance premium.
So I sat down and figured out the replacement value of each and every item. Good thing that I had finished the detailed Relocation Inventory yesterday. Well with a couple of items I just had to guess a replacement value since I could find it anywhere. But I'm fine with that. It took me pretty much all afternoon to figure out the value of each an every item. I was very happy when I was done with it. I still hope to send the entire paperwork to the shipping company by tomorrow.
