Well, today I went to the dentist to have root canal work done. Since that isn't my first time I didn't expect anything major. Boy, was that one heck of a root canal. All the previous once I had not much pain during the procedure, but this root canal was one of the most painful dentist appointments in a long time. Maybe it was because the infection wasn't gone 100%. I'm not sure about that. It took for ever for the local anesthesia to work. And than it was still painful at times. That's when I kept wishing that I had made the appointment in the late afternoon and not at 8 am in the morning.
Once the procedure was over that tooth still hurt. According to the dentist it was due to the fact that the nerve got aggravated and I should take a pain killer and during the day the pain should subside. So I took a pain killer and went to work. And it never got better. It went to a paint when I was taking one pain killer every 3 hours. OK, during the night I slept quite well. The next morning that tooth was still very tender and I so didn't want to chew on that thing. But it was better than the previous day. So I went to work and had planned to see the dentist later that day, if the pain should not subside. In the early afternoon the pain was finally gone.
So it took about 36 hours to get rid of the pain. Not exactly a fun thing to do as far as I'm concerned!
