Shopping Trip...

Today I went on a little shopping trip. First up was the usual stuff. Mostly grocery stuff for the weekend and the upcoming week. Even bought a 24 pack of beer. And yes I had to carry it about 1/4 mile back to my apartment and up 3 flights of stairs. In the future I might not be doing that. Instead it might be the better choice to borrow a car and by several packs of them. That way I only have to carry them up the stairs.
Next was a trip to the hardware store. I borrowed my Sis' car. Figured that might be easier than having to transport that in the subway. Well it would have worked but wouldn't have been the most practical thing to do. Bought a couple of things like an ironing board and some other items mostly for the bathroom including a clothes dryer. Spent about 100 bucks.
Next up was the appliance store. I wanted to look at washing machines. Found what I was looking for. It's appliance that puts washer and dryer into one single appliance. You might not get the same efficiency out than you get from 2 separate appliances. But for apartment living it's a good compromise. Signed the contract and went to pay. Well then when the trouble started. Didn't have enough cash on me for the down payment. Figured no problem I pay it with my ATM card. Wrong...doesn't quite work that way. Since I have a daily limit. Figured no problem. I go the the ATM machine and get some cash. Supposedly the cash limit doesn't count against the card limit. Wrong again. It does. So the only that I could do was to cancel the contract and will have to re-do it on Monday after work. Wasn't quite happy about that. In situations like these I miss having a credit card.
Later I was supposed to visit with friends, but since it was almost 7 pm and I still hadn't eaten dinner I figured I'll be seeing them some other Saturday since I didn't feel like paying 10 bucks for the train for one direction for just seeing them for 2 hours. So Daisy and I stayed in and had a quiet and very enjoyable Saturday evening.
