Well, today was the day that we'd be making the switch to BMD. And the new software was going live for the first time. We were omly 3 people in the office today. The CFO, my co-worker who deals usually with merchandiese orders and myself. Having been trough several software changes in my professional life, I was prepared for some rough time.
At first it was no problem at all and we bounced knowledge off each other to come to the reight solution. But the positive vibe didn't last for long. My coworker came ofer that she couldn't print out an inoice. When we checked her laptop it appeared that your software had crashed. So we restarted that thing again. To no avail. We still couldn't print the invocie. So we called tech support...and after going trough several calles, we learned that if something like that happens, the software puts into this order a lock-information, so that the whole process involved can't "run down" twice. That is quite essential actually. But of course having something like that happen to you, is a pain in the ass. But we learned that there was a very quick way to remove that lock-information and continue working on the order. We were very happy about that. And from that point on the mercahndise adminstration worked pretty much without any problems.
