Well the first month with my new superior has been interesting, to say the least. She want's tons of changes and all of them very quickly. But she also acknowledges that change takes time. And there are cerain people in our company that need more time to adjust to changes.
There has been going on a power struggle between my fromer and my new superior. For me that doesn't come as a surprise. But I stand in the middle of that power struggle. She tells me what my former suprerior doesn't do and my former superior tells me what she is doing in his opinion wrong. And I only keep thinking why those two are not talking to each other. But I've worked far too long in an office as that I would be dumb enough to get involved in that struggle. I listen to both sides but I would never ever take sides. That's something those two have to battle out. My other co-worker on the other hand is dumb enouth to take sides. Not only that he doesn't follow the guidelines the new superior has set up but he openly oposes her. That has to be the dumbest thing to do in a situation like that. She doesn't appreciate that and since he keeps making the same mistake she wants him out of the accounting department sooner rahter than later.
I really don't have any problems with her. I do have a very good working relationhsip with her. And if it comes to changes we try to figure them out together and find a way to streamline processes. Of course sometimes she disagrees with me. But that's what a working relationship is all about. But she does appreciate the fact that I'm currently the only one in the accounting department who really works with her and supports her new rules. I know that the former status quo wasn't working and I really want things to get better.
So far I can't say anything bad about her. I get well along with her and we're pretty much on the same wave lenght when it comes to work related issues.

Big Changes at work...
Those of you guys who read my blog regularly know, that I've been talking that there is something in the bushes about changes at work. I knew that they were looking for someone in the accounting department. But it wasn't entirely clear for whose position. Well, that became quite clear today when my boss introduced the new co-worker. Right after that we had a meeting with the boss. My current superior, the new co-worker my boss and I. He made it clear that the new co-worker will be efectively the new head of finance, what makes her my new superior. The boss also pointed out that he is going to remove my other co-worker completely from the accounting department and him to work for tasks better suited for him. In the long run my boss wants me to pretty much take over the day-by-day accouting work for both sub-companies, after the transition to the semi-automated payment recording is running to everyone's satisfaction. He also pointed out that it will be my job to set the automated payment recording up and that it will be my call when we're ready to switch over. So that will be a ton of work and not sure how much fun that'ts going to be. But at least my job seems to be quite secure, at least at the moment.
I spent the better part of the day explaining to my new superior how our software works and how things are interconnected. She did agree with some things and other things not so much. She wants lots of changes. I don't see that as something bad. That was one of the reasons they hired her. So it's definitely going to be a very interesting time.
