More Yard Work

Owning 2 1/2 acre of land is great. Now question about that. But if you have to keep the weeds in check that can be quite a nightmare. Both, Kenny and I, have been working on the weed control for the past few month. We go out a couple of our every day to try to keep them in check. Well, I do it a lot more, since I'm more time home than Kenny. But weed control is tough work. It seems that by the time you're done with one section and move on to the next section, the weeds have just grown back on the section you just have been working on. In spring weed control is literally a full time job! We can't use chemical weed removers since they are toxic for pets and I definitely don't want to introduce those toxins into the water table (which is our drinking water). So you have to do it as they've done it for a Millenia... you have to hand pull them. Today we went to Home Depot to pick up some tools to aid us in the battle against the weeds. We have put up a good fight but lately I had more and more the impression that we're loosing that battle. Maybe the right solution is to change from weed removal to weed management!
