Today I did finally have my dentist appointment. I had wanted to got the the dentist for over a month now. But it never really worked out timewise for me. I had lost a huge filling on one of my molars. In the first week it was really bothering me, since the edges were so sharp. But as time went by the edges becmae more smooth and it worked out actully pretty well. The tooth didn't hurt since I had root canal wokr done on that particular tooth a couple of years ago.
Of course I was aware of the fact, that eventually I have that tooth taken care of otherwise I would loose that tooth as well. And that is something I wasn't really willing to risk. I'm already missing too many molars on that side of my mouth.
I got to my dentist appointment in time. Had some X-Rays taken of it. This was my first visit with this particular dentist. I had ask my sister to recommend a good dentist. I really like the guy, he's straight forward and gives you the options what you can do and what the HMO is paying for. He did congratulate me, that I was stragth forward with my HIV diagnosis.
We then went on to deal with that tooth. The best solution for that tooth was to have a pin put into it and than made a filling on top of it. The filling is being paid by the HMO, the pin not. And so I went ahead and pay the 300 bucks out of my own pocket. I didn't need local anesthesia, since that tooth didn't have any living nerves any more. The entire procedure lasted for about 1/2 hour and was actually fairly enjoyable. As much fun as a dentist appointment can be. But I will be back in 2 days to have a deep dental cleaning since there is some trouble with my gums and I've known about those problems.

Daisy's VET exam...
Today I took Daisy to the local VET. She was more than just due for her annual VET exam and needed to get her shots as well. In addition to that I wanted to have the VET check her lungs since her breathing has been gotten louder over the past few month. I just wanted to make sure that she hadn't gotten herself a case of kennel cough infection.
Having a 17 1/2 year old dog it's a good thing that my VET ist just 2 blocks from my apartment. And that's something Daisy can walk without any problems. We got ther just in time and Daisy settled in quite quickly, although it was quite apparent that she really didn't like the place at all.
The VET took a look at her and was surprised that Daisy was still doing as well as she does with her age. Most VET's are amazed about her physical condition. After a thorough examination it turns out, that without a minor case of heart insufficiency that there is nothing wrong with Daisy. And such a mild case as she has, there is just no need to treat that with meds yet. Daisy got her shots and I had the VET trim her nails as well...and we were done with the VET.
The only thing I've noticed lately is, that she is sleeping way more than she usually does and that upward slopes are becoming way more exhausting.

Income Tax classes...
Well, with this days the next semester of taking classes at the Polytechnic at the WKW started. It's not exactly my favorite thing having to take classes on Saturday, as I would much rather spend the day kicking back and relaxing. But you gotta do what you've gotta do.
I will be taking advanced classes in Income Tax Law. But it very soon became clear that you really have to keep repeating the matter at hand on a regular basis, since income tax is becomming increasingly difficult. So just being in class and paying attention and then doing some "crazy" bulk learning before the exam will just not be an option. So that means that I will have to change arouund my evening schedule a litle. But besides that I do find the matter at hand quite interesting. I know for most of my friends that's somehting that will be quite difficult to understand, how tax law can be interesting and even fun at times.
